GREAT COFFEE / CAKE / LUNCH SPOTLaurent Bakery is a high quality cafe specialising in cakes, coffee, light meals. This branch is not as busy as the central city one so is a better option at peak times. Good service and plenty of tables.
Really nice and warm place, good coffee and big variety of cakes, sandwiches and pastry.
I live nearby so its my go to for fresh bread, which is delish, highly recommend the rye sourdough. You! However, there are many things not great about this place. Their cakes look amazing but are pure sugar, they are just so soooo sweet there is no other flavour but sugar in them. Plus they sold mea cups of STALE croissants and charge full price for them which is over $5. For old, dried out croissants!!! Outrageous! We had quest that morning and I was very disappointed to serve them ale goods. But Laurent is a chain now,not a single bakery where someone would be proud of their creations, just another money driven enterprise. PS update: my partner complained about the stale croissants and got two fresh ones free of charge. Kudos to the management for dealing well with the complaint.
Warm atmosphere and a nice selection of baguettes, sweets and savory bakery items. The service wasn't that great and we were barely spoken to during our time there. Prices were a bit too high in my opinion.
Everthing pretty good except why oh why do they have to microwave a perfectly delicious pie and thus ruin the pastry
