  Asking for pain killer and gastro-stop for a friend with food poisoning with violent headaches from vomiting all night.. The male Pharmacist Kim refused to sell me Panadeine style pain tablets as he had remembered selling me some the week before for my own migraine problem. In FRONT of another customer who was my friend's neighbour (and who recognised me), he said "I will not be your drug dealer". His female assistant chimed in with a deragatory comment and he used language and an attitude that showed utter contempt and judgement towards me as a "self-medicator" and he would not hear my justifications nor "enable" my "problem"...when I have a thorough background in the medical profession and my friend's doctor has approved this approach to his periodic pain problems. I have never taken illicit opiates nor has my friend. I told him he was rude and thoroughly unprofessionally in dressing me down in such a public fashion. I will not be returning. I pointed out he was a community service, subsidised by the government and he had my friends prescriptions on file but refused to take them into account. It was the MOST embarrassing and unnecessary complication to what was a real crisis health situation which could have been easily solved - but he was NOT open to negotiation. He said try another chemist. In other words...nothing illegal in the transaction or unethical...he was simply unable to retract his position based on his pride and arrogance - stating "duty of care" - which in this case I find to be a paradox!
