Great spot. Awesome beers on tap and often amazing live music.
BBQ meats and sides really good, service a bit lacking. We were 8 people and one just ordered a salad which came after all the rest of us finished our meals. One drink order never came, but was also not on the bill so must have been forgotten
Came here on a Saturday night and had the Cape Grim beef rib. OMG! It was amazing. Tender and juicy and smokey loveliness. Came back the next day and had a burger. Was like a good home made big Mac if that makes sense.
I felt a little underwhelmed by Gem Bar. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, I was just expecting better from all the good reviews. The meat wasn't anything outstanding, and the vegetable side of maple roasted pumpkin was much more simple than the name suggested. That said, there's a good selection of tap beers and the live music and atmosphere on the Friday evening we visited was great. I'd happily visit again, but only for burgers or loaded chips. Or maybe during their happy hours.
